Mencia Featured On New Comedy Documentary

Showtime is getting ready to kick off this summer season with new episodes of fan favorites and new specials, including I Am Comic.  The new documentary special examining the life of working stand up comedians is set to premiere in June 11, 2010.

Comedians slated for the show include Mexican funnyman Carlos Mencia.  The hour and a half special investigates comedy today through the eyes of the now retired comedian, Rich Shydner.  After a thirteen year absence from the stage, Shydner is inspired to pick up the mic once more.  Other featured comedians include Louis CK, Sarah Silverman, Tim Allen, Lewis Black, Jeff Foxworthy, Janeane Garofalo and Kathy Griffin. 

The special takes you through the ins and out of what it takes to be a successful comic and why they do it.  Will Rich Shydner be welcomed by a new younger generation and be able make them laugh?  Don’t miss I Am Comic to find out!
